ADM Surveyors Inspire Future Designers and Builders at Old Mill Primary School

At ADM Surveyors, we’re passionate about supporting the next generation of designers, engineers, and builders — and recently we had the pleasure of taking that enthusiasm into the classroom.

Our team visited Old Mill Primary School to host a Design and Technology event with Year 6 pupils, giving them an inside look at how the construction industry works and the wide range of careers it offers.

During the session, our staff explained their different roles within the surveying and construction process — from design and project management to measurement and technical support — helping pupils understand how every part of a project comes together to bring ideas to life.

The children then got hands-on experience, working alongside our team to design and build bird boxes. The activity encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, while also giving pupils a chance to see how design principles translate into practical building tasks.

“It was fantastic to see the pupils so engaged and enthusiastic,” said Steven Masic, from ADM Surveyors. “We hope experiences like this inspire young people to explore the many rewarding paths within construction and design.”

The finished bird boxes are now proudly displayed around the school grounds and available for sale at the school Winter Craft Fair — a lasting reminder of what can be achieved through teamwork and creativity.

Community engagement is a key part of ADM Surveyors’ values, and we’re delighted to have partnered with Old Mill Primary School to make learning about design and technology both fun and inspiring.
