HOUGHTON PAVILION REPLACEMENT PROJECT
ADM surveyors were appointed as quantity surveyors by Houghton Field
Association(HFA) on a project to replace the community pavilion/sports changing
facility on Houghton Field. For HFA as a small charity run by local volunteers, this was 
an ambitious project requiring expert professional advice and guidance. ADM were
recommended following their work on a project in nearby Thurnby. Sam Kenyon guided
the trustees through a tendering process drawing up the tender documents, distributing
these and preparing a summary report to decide on a preferred contractor to deliver the 
project for the community within the available financial envelope / budget.
The final tranche of funding had just been secured when the original architect pulled out 
of the project citing workload issues. Fortunately, ADM stepped up to take on the role of 
contract administrator and provide architectural support and saved the project at a 
critical time. ADM worked closely with HFA as the client and the main contractor (AA 
Leicester Limited). Many problems were encountered over the 12 months of 
construction. The help and advice from the ADM team (particularly Sam Kenyon and 
Tom Riozzi) were critical in overcoming these hurdles. The project was delivered within 
budget although the build period was extended by approximately 12 weeks from the
original estimate of 40 weeks.
The building was handed over to Houghton Field Association in March 2026 and we are 
very pleased with the result. The building has received many positive comments and is 
being used for a wide range of activities by the community. The input of ADM surveyors 
was undoubtedly crucial to the success of the project
